History on the edge of the fork
Towards the end of the 14th century, the De Haar family received the castle and the territories and lands around it, which they held for about fifty years until the death of the last heir, who unfortunately left no descendants. The castle had no choice but to pass to another owner and towards the end of the 15th century a fire broke out in it which left behind quite extensive devastation and destruction so that most of the original building was damaged.
In light of the extensive damage, during the 16th century the castle was rebuilt and the few original areas that remained standing underwent renovation and restoration. At the same time as the renewal and construction operations, the castle continued to roll and pass through different hands and even after these operations ended, the castle's troubles did not end and it was destroyed, burned and changed owners again and again.
The place that stands today is the product of renovation and reconstruction operations carried out at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, paying attention to the smallest details and trying to preserve the original and authentic appearance of the beautiful knight's castle that stood on the spot about 500 years earlier.
